Indrajit Roy-Chowdhury, will perform the sitar, the
18-stringed Indian lute, and Sanjoy Pal will perform the tabla, the Indian
paired Indian hand drums.The music they will play comes from the North Indian
Classical tradition, with a melodic system known as raga and rhythmic system
known as tala. The ragashave strong associations with various times of day or
seasons. The musicians will perform ragas appropriate to welcome the festival
attendees.
