Today's lesson of the Okinawan Sanshin songs are
Kui Nu Hana and  Suminashi Bushi.

恋ぬ花、染みなし節です。

I enjoyed the concert at the Douglaston/Little Neck Library today.

It was so nice that the library gave me a rose bouquet after the performance.

It was great way to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with Okinawan and Japanese Music by Junko Fisher

Description

Born in Okinawa, trained there and in Tokyo, and now residing in Douglaston, Junko has for decades performed concerts of traditional Okinawan and Japanese folk music on the sanshin, a stringed instrument used to accompany traditional Okinawan dance. Her master artistry has been witnessed by countless appreciative audiences throughout the New York metropolitan region. Light refreshments will be served. This event is sponsored by the Friends of Douglaston/Little Neck Community Library.
